A wonderful vintage 1940s University of Pittsburgh Panthers Letterman's sweater. Very nice condition. Wool purple (see note below) sweater with gold Varsity "P" sewn to the front. Features two slash front pockets. Maker's label says "Stadium / Sportswear / Shaker Sweater Co". A couple of moth holes on the front, back and sleeves but hardly noticeable. Some fading around the collar and shoulders. Appx size 36-38, see measurements below. From the estate of 1944 men's tennis team letterman. NOTE: This sweater is a dark purple rather than blue. I was told by family members, because of wartime shortages blue sweaters WERE NOT available.
